Over the years, Fano International Film Festival has gained prestige and increasing importance in Italy and abroad. A noteworthy occasion of meeting and exchange for Italian and foreign independent authors, it has become a benchmark for filmmakers, film industry professionals, and the specialist press. The Festival’s main aim is to promote the circulation of films by young directors able to express new ideas and feelings, to deal with contemporary topics, and to offer at the same time innovative hints of authentic formal, artistic, and film language research.
Open Subject:
All topics are accepted. The Festival welcomes submissions of works shot on Super 8, on 16-35 mm film or in any digital format. Filmmakers often choose to submit to Fano International Film Festival to have their premiere or exclusive screening.
School Section:
The Festival also includes a section entirely dedicated to school productions, with students and teachers of many different kinds of schools from all over Italy submitting their works. Along with the seminar-refresher workshop organized for teachers and the conferences, the school section has become a point of reference nationwide.
Other Events:
The Festival also organizes significant cultural and art events such as opening ceremonies, art exhibits, and conferences. Moreover, it promotes the great local historical and artistic heritage while offering opportunities to discover the surroundings with day trips, to take guided tours throughout the town, as well as to attend evening concerts.
