Since its inception, in 1999, and in partnership with the General Council of the Essonne, Cinessonne, the Festival of European Film in the Essonne’s purpose has been two-fold: promoting cinematic expression in Europe and participating in the development of a cinematic policy for the Essonne involving a network of partners throughout the department, particularly the “art house” cinemas.
