This is the story of the “Din Don Down” acting company, composed of four disabled people.
Their latest play is Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot”. This documentary aims to show the
reality of these boys through the rehearsals of the play, assisted by the volunteers who aid
them. Two visual narrative keys are used in order to develop the story: the interviews with the
boys, their parents and the volunteers, so as the footage of their daily activities which include
the rehearsals during a week of community life. The documentary directors want to show their
artistic abilities but, above all, their humanity, their ability to communicate and their
authenticity. Din Don Down was edited maintaining the original interviews, without external
comments, in order to propose a true and emotionally intense story. |
