Following the box-office and critical success of the first film, the adventures of Luca and his friends Massi, Simona, Alice and Riccardo return to the screen.
While the first film examined friendship, here the focus is on the confused, comical world of love .
Luca has fallen in love with Azzurra, a slightly older marine biologist who drags him into madcap metropolitan adventures.
And Luca's family life is equally complicated. His father Paolo is an eternally immature huckster and a lying husband. Luca is forced to be “his father's father”, rescuing Paolo from a series of laughable predicaments.
As before, the light-hearted pranks and adventures of the group of school friends provide the film with its underlying theme, while one of the starring roles is played by the music and pop songs that provide the soundtrack for our lives.
