Through hearing the testimonies of mothers living in a land plagued by war which seems indefinite, who live with the fear of never seeing their children return home, we are shown the conflicts and personal dramas which depict History. The pain experienced through the loss of one’s child, either the victim or torturer, is devastating, unjust and incomprehensible. In the suffering for the loss of a family member, there is no racial difference or faith. By getting to know oneself through this pain, it is possible to begin a new journey which leads to understanding. The stories told by these Israeli and Palestinian mothers that have lived through this tragedy will help us understand the terrible reality.
