A dreadful energy crisis after the depletion of oil reserves, sinks the world into a sort of dark Medieval era. In Italy a group of adventurous patriots headed by Diego Abatantuono playing the role of a theatrical and chameleonic Professor embark on a journey from Sicily to the Italian Alps. Aiming to rebuild a country that has been divided, multiethnic almost pre-Risorgimento, where one must ride around on bicycles because there is no gasoline, and the reality show contestants actually kill themselves. An apocalyoptic comedy about a futuristic Italy, divided between the sultanate of the two Sicilys and the Papal State dominated by the Holy Inquisition and the Lombard Republic, protected by a very tall wall.
