Starting with the 2009 edition, Doc Buenos Aires together with France’s Sunny Side of the Doc, which is the most important documentary market in the region, has established a fusion: DOC BUENOS AIRES / LATIN SIDE OF THE DOC (DBA/LSD). The event will be held within the framework of Ventana Sure, a market organized by the Argentine National Institute for Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA), in cooperation with Marché Du Film of the Cannes Film Festival.
DBA/LSD is a fusion of two initiatives that have existed for a many years, with the aim of uniting their experience to in order to deepen the integration of the Latin American audiovisual market with the international documentary market. Our proposal is to bring together in a unique event the major international producers, distributors, and agents with projects and authors with the objective of professionalizing these projects and promoting direct communication between those who make projects and those who have the possibility of acquiring and distributing them in the international market.
The Latin American audiovisual market has been progressively strengthening itself and must find ways and strategies to be able to better and further integrate itself into the international documentary market that has formed during the last twenty years. Sell, pre-sell and co-produce are the three main modes of this market, but in Latin America there is still a great shortage in terms of resources, strategies and tools for selling. The main objective of DBA / LSD is training and education: to communicate to the Latin American professionals that rules, tools, and knowledge for integration into the current market.

EUROPEAN FILM WEEK AS PART OF VENTANA SUR SECOND EDITION.
As part of the second edition of Ventana Sur, The European Film Week will take place at the Gaumont Theatre from November 30th to December 8th, 2010. The European Film Week will be programmed and presented once again by Thierry Fremaux, General Delegate of The Cannes Film Festival, and some directors will be presenting their screenings.
The second edition of The European Film Week in Buenos Aires, will present outstanding films that have not been released in the country.
