Ettore is a young soldier in the Italian army victim of a kidnap in Siria. After his release and return to Italy, he finds his country in a frenzy for his misadventures. All he wants to do is forget and disappear but everyone considers him a national hero and the army chiefs force him to show his public persona to the media during the Taormina festival, a big popular event that is going to start in three days. From that moment Ettore is in charge of Simone, a TV author who will drive Ettore to the city of the festival and set him for the stage. On that stage Ettore will have his moment of fame, his minutes of popularity, which could possibly give a sense to his previous tragic experiences.
