1974. French noblewoman Ariane hires Italian screenwriter Pietro. The two isolate themselves for months in a countryside villa to write a film script to send to director Luchino Visconti based on Marcel Proust’s great novel In Search of Lost Time.

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
The approach taken on this film was to place the setting at the service of the actors. The two characters are, above all else, the main subject of this meta-cinematographic fresco of the 1970s; that is, the decade of dialectics (the loss of which is to be mourned). I wanted to paint a bitter-sweet portrait that was classically conceived but stratified in its political reading, to be as accurate as possible in the reconstruction of the wonderful but leaden times in which the story is set, and to retain a light tone despite the depths and pains of the class conflict and the clash of differing literary, ideological and cinematographic viewpoints.
