Three situations about women's lives in three different periods.
For each of them, the problem is the same: conflict arising from the difficulty in maintaining a balance between professional and private life (family, boyfriend, husband).
Stella is a farmer at the end of the forties: she is 28 years old, she’s married and has three small children. She works hard to buy some land to cultivate, but one pregnancy after another hinders the realisation of her dream.
Sonia is a student from Milan in the early seventies who is about to graduate. A scholarship in Rome and the consequent necessity of postponing their wedding date become sources of tension with her boyfriend.
Silvia is a switchboard operator in the nineties at a mail order company. Her husband heads up a department in the same firm. Their divergent ways of confronting union - and employment - related issues within the company, are at the root of a serious conflict between them.
