Antonio Sterni is 26. He lives in the south of Italy working for an old mobster, Don Eugenio, a close friend of Antonio's father who was killed.
Eugenio asks Antonio to deliver a luxurious car to Stockholm a present to a Russian Mafia man with whom he is working. Antonio leaves.
While he is stopping at a rest area he gets involved In a fight. Carlos, a former boxing champion from Argentina, rescues Antonio, They keep travelling together and as their relationship grows, Carlos realises that Antonio will never get back from his northbound trip.
Every character will meet his own fate in a bitter, yet surprising finale.
