It is a documentary about the fishermen of Lampedusa who live in Rimini. Franco has come to the North of Italy 40 years ago, when the city was expanding because of holiday rituals and myths. One by one, other friends from Lampedusa joined him: Agostino and his nephew Michele, Giovanni, Giacomo, Pino and other fishermen of the Mediterranean sea. Now poverty seems faraway and Franco is building a big fishing boat, Sarina III, for his wife Rosaria. “Telling a story of a fishermen community from Lampedusa in Rimini means telling about an invisible juxtaposition of reality, the discovery of languages, habits and stories never told before. It means digging into unknown territories, knowing about a lost and found sense of belonging: to approach and find new icons, with a transversal look, able to become a wider reflection on the destiny of peoples.”
(M. Bertozzi)
