During the filming of one of his earlier films, Palabras (2003), Corso Salani used a small DV camera to shoot the whole process, from the casting, location scouting, and rehearsals to the actual production. This footage becomes the backdrop for a furious and desperate love letter read out by the filmmaker to the lead actress with whom he has fallen in love. A heartfelt plea, a declaration of love but also one of rebellion, Il peggio di noi is an auto-biographical documentary in which the filmmaker expresses his rancour and conflates the problems of love with those of making a film.
