Dawn is breaking. A group of men on horseback are riding toward the horizon. They ride in single file toward a destination we can’t see. Slowly, the light reveals the landscape: in the middle of a green plain there are jutting smokestacks spewing smoke, this is where the horsemen are headed. In Ottana, in the middle of the Barbagia desert, during the early 1970s a sort of industrial pole was created that had devastating effects on the environment. These horsemen share the same destiny as the many workers who every day are swallowed up by the industry.
