Naples. An old woman looks out the window of her apartment in the direction of Mount Vesuvius and Capri but her view is blocked by the artificial barrier of the city, construction sites and traffic. In the meantime, down on the street, grotesque scenes of everyday life are taking place: a slightly deranged man defecates behind a car, a girl masturbates her boyfriend on a park bench. Workers at a construction site shift the reflection to various vintage photos of the buildings and streets of Naples in the early twentieth century. The elderly woman seems to accept the changes and the squalor of modern life with resignation.
